Past PHD students

Adriaan van der Graaf

Adriaan has a degree on Biology from the University of Groningen (NL).  I supervised him at the University of Groningen, with Prof. Cisca Wijmenga as main promoter. His thesis focused on methods development and application to find causal factors of complex diseases using omics data.
Adriaan graduated in 2022 and he now works at the University of Lausanne.

Eleonora Porcu

Eleonora Porcu has a degree on Mathematics from the University of Cagliari, and she was the first to join the statistical team at the INN-CNR on 2008, after less than a month of her graduation. Eleonora has developed strong skills on genome-wide association analyses and on meta-analyses of quantitative traits and completed her PhD in 2015.
She is now a Premiere Researcher at the University of Lausanne.

Elisabetta Mereu

Elisabetta has a MSc degree on Mathematics from the University of Cagliari, and she spent half of her PhD in my group. Elisabetta has developed strong skills on whole-exome sequencing and linkage analyses.
She defended her PhD thesis on 2015 and now moved to Barcelona.

Giorgio Pistis

Giorgio Pistis has a degree on Biology from the University of Cagliari. He joined the CNR for his PhD training, and  his research mainly focused in understanding genotype imputation performance in the era of next generation sequencing.
Giorgio graduated on 2015 and now works at the University of Lausanne.
